Will I be able to save all of this work that I have done on
this site and then upload it using a new license that will be
brought for these clients? How would I do that? Will I be able
to save all of this work that I have done on this site and then
upload it using a new license that will be purchased for these
clients? How would I do that?
You would take a snapshot and the clients would import that
into his copy of Creative.

Can I examine the matter of a Snapshot?
Snapshot files can generally be examined
by opening the file in WinZip. WinZip will show the files that
are included in the snapshot but does not show other information
which is stored within the Snapshot.
Note that this may not be the case with future account of the
Snapshot function.

Why does Snapshot report that my selected section HTML
files are missing?
If a Creative-generated file such
as Section1.html is referenced in a template directly as <a
href=" Section1.html "> then Snapshot tries to
include the file. As the file is in the Site HTML folder rather
than the site folder, snapshot does not find it.
When making hard links to particular sections or goods, you
must use the Search Scrip.

Trying
to take snapshot I get the error message Fatal errors [File
snapshot wizard.cpp, line 733] archive error 5 - a compression
operation failed. Library error cannot open file........CreativeCatalog.mdb
has been caught
It seems that the database is still
locked. If another application, such as MS Access, has the database
open then close the application otherwise try compacting the
database (Housekeeping | Compact Databases) and then re-attempt
the snapshot. . |
|
When
I try to do a snapshot, Creative comes up with the following
error message:
"There was a problem with the database
Operation: Moving through the [Setup Info] table where nGroupID
IN (0)
Data truncated.
Action: Contact your Creative reseller or Creative Support as
appropriate"
To fix this, you will need to convert
the database to Access 2000. To do this, start Access and go
to 'Tools | Database Utilities | Convert Database | To Current
Access Database Version'. Select ' CreativeCatalog.mdb' from
your current Site1 (or equivalent) folder.
Once the database has converted, go to 'Tools | Database Utilities
| Compact and Repair Database'. Then close Access. Restart Creative
and you should be able to do the snapshot without problems.

machine has been stolen, how can I stop the thief from downloading
my orders?
Contact your hosting company and
get them to change the ftp password immediately. This will stop
unauthorized people from gaining access to your server files
on your site. |

How
do I move a site from one PC to another?
1. Go to 'Site | Snapshot | Export
Site'
2. Export the site as a snapshot
3. Take this snapshot file to the second machine.
4. Put Catalog Client or Business Client on the client's PC,
licensing it with a new key purchased from Creative Software.
5. Go to 'File | Snapshot | Import Site' and import your snapshot.
If you have the 'Designer' version and are deploying a site
to a client, you need to go to Design | 'Deploy Site Snapshot'
(full Site) or 'Deploy Partial Site Design' (design alone) depending
on your requirement.
|
|
When
I export a snapshot, how do I keep my clients address and credit
card details private.
It is possible to export a 'support
snapshot' where all customer account and order details are obscured
in order to protect privacy. This is accessed via 'Help | Troubleshooting'.

can I find out the authorization keys for my sites as I do not
have the CDs any more?
Go to 'Housekeeping | Security'. |

Can
I restore the catalogue on the local PC from the files stored
on the website?
No, this is not possible as Creative

stored on the local PC, and are never uploaded. |
|
Can
I put Creative on a network drive so it can be backed up every
night?
Yes, but make sure that only one
person can use Creative at a time. During installation, a prompt

default it is C:\Program files\Creative v8, just click on the
"BROWSE" button and select the network drive and the
path where you want to put Creative. |

I download my database from the web site?
No. The MDB file is used locally
to store the goods details and other info. It is used to generate
the pages for the web site, and as such does not get uploaded. |
|
I
have lost my site due to replacing my HDD. Can I get the site
back from my web site, or do I need to re-enter all the goods
into Creative?
This is not possible. Creative
source files are ONLY kept on the local machine, and are not
uploaded to the server. It is suggested that you keep a backup
of all files, in case you have a HDD crash etc. This can be
done by going to 'Snapshot | Export Site'. |
|
I
have had a virus (or other crash) and have had to completely
re-format my hard drive. How do I get my Catalogue back?
This is ONLY possible giving you
have taken a snapshot of your store (Snapshot | Export Site).
Re-install the software from the CD, start Creative and go to
'Snapshot | Import Site' to restore your site. After importing
the snapshot, refresh the Catalogue to your site using Web |
Refresh.
|
|
My
hard drive has been wiped clean. Can I recover my site from
the web server??
No it is not possible, as all Creative

from a local backup. |
|
After
upgrading and opening Creative, I get an error about upgrading
ShippingTemplate.pl.
This can be caused if the file
ShippingTemplate.pl is missing from the folder Ship Control
in the site folder or the folder has been removed or renamed
makes sure that the folder exists. If the file is missing, it
can be restored from the folder <Installation Path>\Original\Ship
Control.
|
|
Will
upgrading using a full put (as opposed to a patch) adversely
affect Creative?
No problem - Proceed as directed
by the installation process choosing 'upgrade' when prompted.
