When I have only one licensed site how can I change Site 1 to something else?

If you have a one site in Creative there is no user border to change its name. You will require editing the System Registry to change the site name.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Creative/Catalog8

- Right click the value 'Site', choose Modify and change the value data from 'Site1' to the new site name. This renamed must be the same as directory above.

- Right click the value 'Site List', select Modify and change the value data from 'Site1, ' to the new site name followed by a comma and then a space. E.g. 'My Site, '

- Open the key 'Sites'. Right click the key 'Site1' and to rename the sub-key from 'Site1' to the new site name select rename.

- Open the renamed sub-key, right click the value 'Site Name' and select modify to change the value data to the new site name.

Exit the System Registry editor and restart Creative, which must show the new site name.

Windows NT/2000 needs you to have management rights in order to put Creative, but what if you need to run it as a normal user?

This answer needs changes to the registry in order to work, so it must only be aimed by someone learned in using this.
1) You will require putting Creative in a folder other than 'Program Files' as this folder has particular privileges.

2) Go to 'Start | Run' and type 'reedits'. Browse to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Creative' and go to 'Registry | Export Registry File…' Save it as a 'Registration File' in a folder accessible to all users

3) Changes to a user version where you need to be able to use Creative.

Double-click on the registry file to add the exported information into the registry of the current Windows user profile.

What type of database is Creative based on?

V4 is based on an Access 97 database.
v5, v6 v7 and v8 are based on an Access 2000 database.

How do I put Business and Catalog on one machine?

You don't require putting both account of the software. You will simply require to click on 'File | Sites | License New Site' and enter the new authorization key. If it is a Business key it will start a Business site, and a Catalog key will start a Catalog site. The account of software (Catalog / Business) is only dependant on the registration key. The same applies to licensing Designer.

Can I license the goods after the 30 day trial period without losing my catalogue?

Yes, provided it is a valid key purchased from us or an official reseller.
