Java applet wont start up (remains grey) in Actinic Host mode - when I hover the mouse over the applet, I get the message "EA.class not found"

It may be that the Codebase in 'Web | Network setup' is incorrect. Check the codebase with your hosting company and correct in 'Web | Network setup'.

Customers make purchase and get confirmation from SecPay. SecPay bounces back to my site, and in the confirmation screen there is a link to view page but this does not work?

This is usually caused by editing the Act_SecPayOK.html template. You will need to use an original version of this template (from the 'OCCUpgrade\CommonOCC' folder to get this working again as we cannot support modified templates.

Where can my buyers get the Java Module for Windows XP so that they can use the Actinic Encryption for payments?

When using Actinic Ecommerce with Secure Trading as the PSP in test mode, and attempting to purchase an item in the checkout, I get the message "Error:Field $merchant is required"

This is a Secure Trading issue with the account set up on their server. You will need to contact Secure Trading.

When completing entering card details at SECPay, the customer receives an error message.

The file Act_SECPayOK.html is not present in the acatalog directory. Go to 'Advanced | Additional Files' and browse to the 'Common OCC' directory and select the file Act_SECPayOK.html. When you have done this click the upload arrow, to have Actinic put it onto the site.

Why might the Actinic in-built credit card applet (Java applet) be greyed out?

This may be caused by a number of reasons.

1. Using Internet Explorer (V5 or later), hover the mouse pointer over the applet and check the status bar at the bottom of the screen. This may indicate the type of problem encountered.

2. Check using an FTP client that Actinic has created the acatalog/COM/Actinic/Catalog' directory structure within your site and that the *.class files are present in the Actinic directory.

3. Check that the Actinic and Catalog directories have the correct permissions (777 on Unix) .

4. Ensure that the acatalog folder has not been created in the CGI-BIN folder, as this may cause problems.

Just before credit card process getting error with:../acatalog/xxxxxxx.num

This is usually caused by either incorrect permissions on the xxxxxxx.num file, or a corrupted xxxxxxx.num file. Firstly connect via FTP to your site, and check/change permissions on file. If this doesn't work, then simply delete the file and Actinic will create a new one.
You can then restore the order numbers in 'Help | Troubleshooting'.

I have been trying to put in a text html link to the checkout from the shop page and have pasted in the following link:<A HREF="http://www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/os000001.pl?ACTION=Start%21">Proceed to Checkout</a> Thus making it possible to finalise the order from anywhere in the shop. However when proceeding all the way through the checkout from the above the encryption applet does not initialise, but remains grey. However when following a similar link from the 'order' button it works.

The code that you have used is correct, but the page that carries that button/code normally must exist within the acatalog directory. Having said that, the Catalog can be configured so that the applet can be called in this manner.

Open Actinic and go to 'Web | Network Setup'. You will find a field called 'Codebase', enter into that field the URL to the acatalog directory, e.g.:-http://www.mysite.com/acatalog/ This will force the web server to seek the applet in this directory.

You will need to FTP to your site, and check whether you have the following directory structure: COM/Actinic/Catalog beneath the acatalog directory. If you don't, then you will need to create the directory structure COM/Actinic/Catalog within the acatalog folder. You will then need to click on upload from within Catalog to upload the files. If this still will not work, then you may need to manually upload the .class files from within the Actinic Ecommerce Installation folder on the PC to acatalog/COM/Actinic/Catalog on the server.

Why do I get error code 97 when using the SIM method for AuthorizeNet?

This may occur if the date/time is set incorrectly on the server hosting the store. The reason that the SIM method is time sensitive, is that when the Buyer reaches the PSP bounce page during the checkout, the AuthorizeNet plug-in code generates a fingerprint, which is used to authenticate the request. The current server time is one of the parameters used to create the fingerprint. If the server time is not correct for the server time zone, then the AuthorizeNet gateway will take it as an expired request, and will reject it with error code 97..

Why can't I see the Golden Padlock/Key in my browser when using a PSP?

This can occur if the PSP payment page is loaded into a frame. The payment page must load into a full window for the Padlock/Key to appear.

If you are using frames in Actinic Ecommerce, make sure that 'No Frames in Checkout' is checked in 'Design | Design Options'.
