My Product images do not display for registered customers or after following a link from the search results.

The product pages are served by the Perl scripts for registered customers and when following a link from the search results. So that the images are served from the acatalog directory and not the cgi-bin directory, the perl scripts set the base URL to the Catalog URL as entered in the Network Setup. When the images are missing, check that the Catalog URL in the Network Setup is entered correctly.

Registered customers have garbage displayed when following additional information link which points to an image

Registered customers browsing using Netscape Navigator will have this problem. This is because the image is served by the Perl scripts as an HTML page, Internet Explorer recognises that the content is actually an image and displays the image.

To ensure that the image is displayed correctly in Netscape Navigator, specify the full URL of the image in the Information Link File/URL of the product.

I am using SSL for my checkout pages but my images are not appearing within the checkout page. If I look at the properties of the images (that are not showing up) Internet Explorer is looking for:
https://www.myshop.com/acatalog/<image file>
This URL does not exist.

You need to ask your web host to allow you to have a secure (https) URL for the acatalog folder on your web site.

Why is the right hand side of the online store cut short and I cannot see the whole image of the product and in some cases I cannot see the add to cart button?

This problem is nearly always caused by having product and/or section images larger than 160 pixels wide.

When using standard Actinic Layouts / Themes, it must be noted that they are optimised to having 3 cells set up on the page, each of which occupies 160 pixels in width. You will need to decrease the size of your images to fix this problem. Normally this problem only occurs when using Netscape as IE5 and above automatically compensates for this problem and will usually display the whole screen.

A few visitors to the store, but not all, have reported that the images don't display. Why might this happen?

If the problem is limited to a few visitors then the problem is probably related to the browser that they are using..

Why, after refreshing the site the changes do not appear when browsing to the site?

The internet browser is cacheing the pages. Try CTRL+F5 (Internet Explorer) to force the browser to refresh the page from the server instead of from the cache

I can't see my images on the web when viewing with Netscape.

This problem can occur when using special characters (including spaces) within file names for the images. Netscape can't display images with such file names. IE works fine.

I have created an image and manually called it from the store pages, but when we upload we do not see the image.

If an image has been called manually (i.e. you have hard-coded a link) you will have to specify it in the additional files list (Design | Additional Files) and the file will be uploaded to the 'acatalog' folder online

The banner image below my product does not appear when doing a search. What is wrong?

You simply need to enter the absolute path for the image file name, so the image can be found from the cgi-bin by the scripts.
