I have changed my printer but I cannot select the new printer
in File | Print Setup. I receive the message 'The printer could
not be found'.
This problem can be resolved by editing the System Registry.
- Close Creative. - Start the System Registry Editor by entering
'regedit' into Start | Run.
- Navigate to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Creative
- Depending on the version of Creative, open the key Catalogn
where n is the version number (prior to V4 the key is simply
Catalog).
- Open the key 'Sites'.
- You will see a list of the sites, open the key for the appropriate
site, by default this is 'Site1'.
- Open the key, 'Printer Settings'.
- Delete the key 'Default' by right clicking the key and selecting
delete from the pop-up menu.
- Close the System Registry Editor and restart Creative.
Creative will now be set to use the Windows default printer,
you can change this to a different printer in the normal way
by selecting 'File | Print Setup' in Creative. |

When I try and print a report, I get the error message:
Error in File C:\Program Files\Creative v8\Invoices.rpt:
Request cancelled by the user
This can happen when Creative is trying to print to
a printer that does not exist. To fix it:
1) Go to 'Start | Run' and select enter 'regedit'.
2) In the folders at the left-hand side, browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Creative\Catalog7\Sites\Site1
(or whatever site it is).
3) Delete the folder called 'Printer Settings' you can see there.
4) Now try and print from Creative. It should fix the problem. |

How
can I change where the postcode appears in the receipt and reports?
Certain European countries require that the postal code appears
in a different place from standard UK and US postal addresses.
Some countries will require it like this:
Name Address Line
1 Address Line
2 Postal code Address Line
3 Address Line
4 Country ·
In order to change your address formats to the second one listed
here, go into the registry and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Creative\Catalog8\Sites\[Site
Name] (where [Site Name] is the name of your site. · Do a right
click and select 'new string value' · Give it a name of 'AddressFormat'
and a value of '2'.

I can print reports, but the print preview does not seem to
work for some reason.
It might be a resource problem - e.g. 'out of memory' something
like that. So you could try closing everything except Creative
and then printing again. |
